Implementation Engineer

Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations 

 

Provide technical expertise to plan and execute upgrades to fielded customer systems including Trunking, Conventional, Consoles, E911 and Data. Preconfigure customer hardware and software in Upgrade Operations lab to facilitate easier upgrade process in the field. Provide technical support, testing and troubleshooting as needed during upgrade implementations (phone support). Work with product and brand teams to identify improvements to existing and planned products and processes to make upgrades transparent to the customer and more cost effective to implement. Participate in Cross-Functional TFE Teams to support Motorola and NIO initiatives.

Specific Knowledge/Skills 

Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with multiple Technology Platforms, i.e. Trunking (SmartNet, Astro25 SmartZone and Omnilink), E911, Fixed Data, Mobile Data, etc. Working knowledge of LAN/WAN equipment and concepts. Effective Oral/Written Communications Skills. Proven customer skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel both internally and externally to Motorola. Aggressive/Creative Problem Solving Skills; ability to get things done in a multi-organizational environment. Knowledge of GTS (Clarify), COF, Microsoft Office Suite, Primus (Solution Builder), TDR, and SID tools/databases. Knowledge of SSC, CST/CSE, and CCSi Business Processes.
